Electric and electronic devices waste (RAEE)

Electronic waste, RAEE or e-waste are a particular kind of waste which consist in every kind of electronic or electric device which the owner would through away because of broken, non use or old.
Main problems of this kind of waste are the presence of toxic substances for environment and non biodegradability of these instruments.

Increasing diffusion of these electronic instruments determines an even greater risk of relinquishment in environment or scrap-yards and incinerators with soil, air, water pollution as consequence that influence human health. These products have to be correctly treated and sent to differential recovery of materials as copper, iron, steel, glass, silver, gold  in order to avoid waste of resources that can be reused to produce new instruments besides an environmental sustainable life.

This kind of waste are commonly defined as RAEE and are regulated by “RAEE guidelines” (or WEEE guidelines, Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment), in Italy as “Decreto RAEE”.
